Celebrating National Electric Safety Month with STC

At STC, we are dedicated to celebrating proper safety techniques in every way possible, no matter the situation. This month, we are celebrating safety when working with electricity in honor of National Electric Safety Month! Working with electricity can be one of the most dangerous jobs on the job site, so here’s what you need to know to stay safe with STC:

National Electric Safety Month

Throughout the entire month of May, STC will be celebrating National Electrical Safety Month to spread awareness about the dangers of working with electricity. Without taking proper safety precautions, working with electricity can lead to lifelong disabilities and even death. If you work with electricity, there’s never a bad time to refresh your knowledge on electrical safety!

Energy Resilience Campaign

Each year, the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) chooses a different theme surrounding National Electric Safety Month. This year, the theme is “Energy Resilience” and will focus on how emerging technologies, such as electric cars, photovoltaics and different types of energy storage systems can help workplaces and homes become more energy-efficient.

Electric Safety Tips for the Workplace

The best way to stay safe when working with electricity is to prevent all possible contact with live wires by shutting down electricity in the building entirely. If you must work with live electricity, then ensuring safety from all possible forms of contact is essential. Ensure all employees are following proper lockout/tagout procedures and are wearing appropriate PPE.

No matter how you choose to protect workers from the dangers of electricity, STC is always here to help your entire organization learn to stay safe. We offer a wide variety of managed safety services, from onsite safety staffing to safety consulting to help prepare your employees for every situation. Want to learn more about STC’s services?
